B-Safe PVC Coated Wire Lanyards

Image of B-Safe PVC Coated Wire Lanyards.

PVC coated wire rope shock absorbing lanyard with double locking snap hook one end and double locking scaffold hook the other.

Wire roap lanyards are ideal for use in hot works and when working in other adverse conditions

Purpose:

Energy absorbing lanyards are designed to reduce the fall arrest forces on the body

Limitations and Use of a Single Leg Lanyard:

- The personal energy absorbing end of the lanyard must be attached to a fall arrest attachment point on the harness at all times.

- Attach the fitting on the other end to the anchorage point. The connection should be at a level which will result in the minimum free fall and the least total fall distance consistent with the wearer's ability to carry out work tasks.

- When connecting to an attachment point on the harness that is not visible to the user you must either connect prior to fitting the harness or have the connection checked for secure attachment by a second person.

- Do not connect more than one lanyard at a time as this will increase the maximum activation load required and increase the maximum shock on the body above 6kN.

- Minimum force required to activate the lanyard is 2kN or 230kgf - short falls or slides do not generate enough force to activate the shock absorber.

- The maximum allowable free fall in 2M.

B-Safe energy absorbing lanyards are tested by dropping a 100kg mass a distance of 3.8 metres, generating a force of up to 20kN (2040kg).

The lanyard must be capable of reducing this force to below 6kN (612kg).

This is achieved by increasing the deceleration distance with the use of controlled tear webbing which pulls apart at a pre determined load.

The end result is a much softer impact on both the worker and the structure to which they are attached.

All B-Safe lanyards are 100% individually proof loaded prior to final assembly and feature construction techniques designed to make visual inspection easier, both during manufacture and in the field.
